Cherry Grove Shark Awareness Program

CGCAI has implemented a communication cadence with the National Parks Services/ Fire Island National Seashore. They have created a specific protocol to include our community and we are beyond grateful for this unprecedented action. The collaboration with the Cherry Grove Fire Department has been critical in this effort.

You will see the below posters around town. When the threat has been communicated the purple flag with the shark clearly printed on it will be hoisted on each beach walk (this is the universal marine flag to communicate sharks are in the waters). When the flag is down, we have been alerted that the threat has passed.

We ask that you take these alerts seriously.
